How is zirconia crown made?

Step 1 - Tooth preparation

Step 2 - Impression taking (this could be done using an intraoral camera or silicon material poured into a tray that has to stay in your mouth for 3 to 5 minutes.

Step 3 - The technician will design the crown in the computer and then a machine will cut the tooth accordingly from the zirconia block f into the machine.

Step 4 - The zirconia block is then transferred to a special oven where it will stay for hardening. This process will take approximately 12 hours.

Step 5 - The crown is placed in the model where the technician adds layers of ceramic or stains to match the color of your teeth.

Most of the time the crown does not require multiple appointments as our clinic has an in-house laboratory.

Emax crowns are usually used in front teeth as they have superior aesthetic results and front teeth do not have loading forces that require extremely hard materials to withstand occlusal forces.
