The model of your mouth is reproduced in stone from the impression taken into your mouth. Then it is scanned with a special scanner to design it in the computer. Once we have created a perfect anatomy and size of the tooth, we then transfer it to a 3d machine called Cad/Cam which then will cut Emax blocks of ceramic identical to your smile design. Once the process is completed we then customize the color with special stains and ceramic layers. Note that the machine could cut thin layers from the block up to 0.5mm
In some cases an even thinner veneer is required and that’s where pressing technique is useful. A ceramic block is heated into a special oven at high temperatures and then pressed into a pre designed mold according to the customized design we have created.
Hollywood smile dental veneers are usually considered a high-end cosmetic dental procedure. As such aesthetics and naturality are important factors. This is where one dentist is distinguished from another. Some dentists are specialized in aesthetics and their work relatively costs more compared to other dentists. When it comes to porcelain veneers price laboratory labor is another important factor.
Since veneers are very delicate and thin, creating the perfect color in less than 0.5 mm thickness, is very challenging and only the most skilled technicians could achieve desired results, Some lab technicians are more talented and have way more experience compared to other labs, therefore their labor could cost more. Our clinic works with the most talented lab technicians in the country and our philosophy is to never compromise quality over price
Lumineers have a very limited application since the concept behind this treatment is to not prep your teeth at all. The reality is that only 10% of the patients are the right candidates for Lumineers. If you have stubborn stains chipped teeth or the dentist identifies problems with your bite, bruxism, etc then, Lumineers are categorically not an option for you. Veneers, on the other hand, require minimal preparation of the tooth but if done right they will give you that Hollywood smile you have been looking for.
A cheaper alternative to all-ceramic porcelain veneers is dental bonding or composite veneers. While the cost gap is significant (usually 1/3rd of the price) composite veneers tend to stain and deteriorate over time, ceramic veneers on the other hand will never change color or shape. The cost of ceramic veneers is higher to the fact that they are done in a laboratory and require more time and equipment’s to be manufactured whereas composite veneers are done the same day by the dentist.
Who wouldn’t want to change the color and shape of their teeth, saving at the same time their enamel? Most dentists are conservative at this point, not only because they could be conservative to your enamel but the strength of the veneer cementation on a “non-prep tooth” is superior compared to a “prep tooth”. Unfortunately not in all patients the non-prep treatment is possible. This could be decided once we take an impression of your teeth and after further analyzing your models we could come to a conclusion whether you are a candidate for non-prep veneers. Depending on your oral situation we could also design a selective non-prep which means that some teeth could be left untouched and some others have to be prepared for an ideal symmetric outcome.
